About Us
Founding of the PBC
Pastor David Presson and his wife founded People's Baptist Church on October 10, 1999. Their initial efforts included securing a building for services, which allowed them to witness numerous individuals coming to faith in Jesus Christ and experiencing transformative changes in their lives for the glory of God. After five years of leadership, Pastor Presson felt a calling toward a new ministry and communicated this to the church congregation.
Following his departure, Pastor Robert Gwynn and his wife Karen took over the leadership of People's Baptist Church, serving for the next eighteen years. Their tenure continued the church’s mission of evangelism, leading to many souls being saved and lives transformed. During this period, the church was able to acquire property and construct a new facility, a process that benefitted from Pastor Gwynn’s background in contracting, which helped minimize costs.
Additionally, under Pastor Gwynn’s leadership, the church initiated a Reformers Unanimous chapter, a program aimed at assisting individuals struggling with addiction. In June 2024, the church welcomed Pastor Alton Mickle and his wife Maxine, who had previously served as missionaries in Belgium for eleven years. Pastor Mickle is committed to upholding the established mission of the church: Evangelize the Lost, Equip the Believer, and Expand the Gospel.
